Raised to Life in Christ

Baptism is the powerful, public declaration of a life that has been changed by Jesus. It doesn't save us - salvation comes through faith in Christ alone and his blood- but baptism is an act of obedience that shows we belong to Him.

When someone is baptized, they're going under the water as a symbol of the old life being buried, and coming up out of the water as a picture of being raised to life in Christ.
"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4

We believe that baptism is the outward expression of the believers inward transformation.

Who Should be Baptized

Baptism is for anyone who has made the personal decision to follow Jesus Christ. If you've repented of your sins, placed your faith in Him, and committed your life to His service, baptism is where you want to be. It doesn't matter how long you've been saved - whether you've followed Him for many years or recently accepted Him as Lord and Savior - or if you have recommitted your heart to him, then baptism is for you.

We believe children can take this step when they have a clear understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. We encourage parents to talk to their child about the importance of salvation and baptism, and our pastoral staff is happy to help answer questions to make sure both adults and children are ready and confident in their decision.

  • Because Jesus was baptized and He is our example (Matthew 3:16)
  • Because Scripture teaches it and we are to obey
  • Because it's the public declaration of your faith in Christ
  • Because it's the open testimony of your life which can encourage and impact your friends and family

What to Wear for Baptism

We provide a t-shirt to mark this great occasion in your life, but we recommend to wear something casual. Darker colored clothing is best suited for baptism, and we do encourage you to bring a change of clothes as we have rooms for you to change in. All shoes,  jewelry, and loose items must be removed prior to being baptized- we also provide a towels.
